You Be You
Be your own person! Don’t let the world or anyone in it influence you in anyway apart from Christ-like discipleship. God created you to be you and He did so it a careful and wonderful way. God doesn’t make junk and nothing about you was a mistake. If you’re having a difficult time seeing that, then you need to shift your perspective. Is the glass half full or half empty? Is that silly dress white and gold or black and blue? Perspective changes everything. You can look up into the black sky at a vicious storm and become completely consumed by it. If you hop in a plane and fly through the storm to change your perspective, you’ll see a calm blue sky with a bright burning sun that still shines in storm.
Find your security, comfort, peace, refuge, and life in the Lord. When the world demands that you look like her and talk like him and act like them, you need to ask yourself, “will this bring me closer to Jesus or closer to sin? Moral of the story is, you will never be a fraction of who God wants you to be if you choose to please man before Him.
Ref. Romans 12:2 “Do not be conformed to this present world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may test and approve what is the will of God—what is good and well-pleasing and perfect.”
Galatians 1:10 “Am I now trying to gain the approval of people, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a slave of Christ!”
